Welcome to the web site of the Greater Flint ACLU

The Greater Flint Michigan ACLU was established in 1963. Its purpose is to promote and protect the constitutional rights of citizens in Genesee, Lapeer, Shiawassee, and Tuscola Counties. The Greater Flint ACLU Board considers requests for assistance by individuals who believe their constitutional rights have been violated. If a review of the request is determined by the Board to implicate a meritorious constitutional or civil liberties issue, assistance may be offered. The Branch also recognizes local individuals who have devoted time and effort toward the preservation of constitutional rights with the Thomas A. Baltus Civil Libertarian of the Year Award. A list of past recipients and information on Thomas A. Baltus is on the Baltus Award page in this site.
